About this piece
We have Daredevil and Hawkeye, and now we have this: a blind superhero with his long white cane. Built like a Superman, with heavy shoulders, a powerful chest and thick quads under the cargo pants, he wears his hoodie like a suit, round tactile sunglasses instead of a mask, a wristwatch on his left arm, and the white cane as his signature gear. He sits, stands, walks and strikes full action hero poses with the cane raised like a staff. As a fully blind person myself, I think representation of the disabled minority matters, and this is my contribution. That is why the white cane is not a loose accessory that gets lost under the sofa. It is part of who he is, permanently fused into his right fist and printed together with him. The whole figure prints in place as one single print: seventeen pieces, fourteen joints, zero assembly. Every hinge has click detents built into the joint geometry, so he holds his pose and stands on his own two printed sneakers without a stand. The sculpt is full of things to find with your fingertips: stubble, layered hair, zipper teeth, segmented fingers with fingernails, sneaker treads and a small tactile wristwatch.
Why I made it this way
- I fused the white cane permanently into his fist, because the cane is part of who he is.
- I built click detents into all fourteen joints, so he holds his pose and stands without a stand.
- I print the whole figure in place as one piece: no screws, no glue, no assembly.
- I sculpted him to be explored by touch, from the stubble and sunglasses to the sneaker treads.
- I designed every joint in OpenSCAD, the CAD that works with a screen reader.
What arrives
If you choose the printed option, your figure arrives fully articulated with every joint freed and tested, ready to sit, stand, wave and sweep his cane. If you want another colour or size, contact me before ordering.
Printing and finishing
I print each figure to order in Denmark with my tested support settings, remove the supports, gently free all fourteen joints and check every click detent before packing.
Returns and digital files
Printed items have a 14-day right of withdrawal, plus your 2-year complaint right.
